Cleansing Crystals

Why would we clean the crystals? There are two reasons; First, we need to remove physical dirt and dust from our exciting new crystals. New crystals often have dust from the store or market counter that needs to be removed. Secondly, we must also clean them thoroughly. What does that mean? You have to remove the energy that other people left on the crystal, because when you buy a crystal, it’s probably manipulated by many other people.

Here are eight ways to clean the crystals:

  1. Breathe
When you first buy a crystal, one of the easiest ways to immediately clean it is to hold it in your hands and then, intending to clean, gently blow on the crystal breath. By doing this, you add your vital energy or prana to the crystal, and it removes or nullifies any energy left by other people; This certainly does not remove physical dirt and dust.
  2. Water
Most crystals can be washed away with running water. Warning: there are crystals that can dissolve in water, some examples – selenite, cyanite and azurit or one of the soft crystals. To do this, you can use a damp cloth to erase the physical dirt. Some books advise you to use sea or spring water, but sometimes this is not possible, so use the cleanest water with or without the chemicals. It is also recommended to regularly wash off the physical dirt from all crystals. Sometimes this is overlooked when using the option of cleaning in the sun or in the moonlight.
  3. Sunlight
Place the crystals in the morning sun to energize them and clean. Warning: Crystals such as amethyst and fluorite are erased if left in the sun for too long and too often. It is also good to cover the crystals with a net, so that the birds do not catch them.
  4. Moonlight
Place your crystal outside in a full moon to provide it with lunar energy. The energy of the moon is a gentle female energy, so it is a very gentle way of purification. It is also good to cover them with a net so that nocturnal animals do not catch them.
  1. Clear the ground
Another popular method is to bury the crystal in the ground. Some say it’s the only way. There are a few precautions when using this method: remember where you bury them and don’t bury them too deeply. Sometimes you will never find them again because Mother Earth will bring them back. A good way is to bury them in a pot so you can easily find them. When you dig, they should be washed because they are dirty.
  2. Spots
White sage has been used by local cultures for many years and is a very effective method of cleaning many crystals at once. If you have a large collection, you will need all night to hang them in the moonlight. You can cover them with a white sage stick or white sage incense. Light the incense or smear the stick and let the smoke float over the crystals. Sandalwood incense is also a good cleanser. If you don’t like these fragrances, almost any incense will help clean your crystals. You can also use resin on a coal block, frankincense, myrrh or a special crystal cleansing mixture. Using resin and charcoal blocks, you can close the door to one room and make the whole room at the same time.
  3. Reiki
When you’re configured to Reiki, you can use Reiki’s energy to clean the crystals. If you have a Reiki Level 1, just hold the crystals in your hands and intentionally send reiki healing to your crystals. For level 2 practitioners, use Reiki symbols on your crystals and then send them Reiki.
  4. Other crystals
Flat amethyst clusters are great for creating other crystals; leaving the crystals on the amethyst for a few hours will clean them energyly. Geodes and clusters of rock crystal are also great.

No matter what method you use, the most important thing to remember is to do something about it and regularly clean all your crystals, both physically and energetically. Always clean them after healing or after use on yourself.
