1. Tanzania Safari Adventure – A KiliSmart Adventure
Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa, and at 5895m, it’s a pretty big deal. So when I was given the opportunity to climb it as part of a KiliSmart Adventure, I jumped at the chance.
The KiliSmart Adventure is a program set up by the company, which takes small groups of climbers up the mountain, with the aim of providing a more responsible and sustainable way of doing things. So instead of taking the usual route up the mountain, which is pretty crowded, we took a less-used route which was not only quieter, but also had less impact on the environment.
We were also given a lot of information about the mountain and the local area before we started our climb, which made the whole experience more enjoyable and really added to our understanding of what we were seeing.
The climb itself was tough but incredibly rewarding, and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for an adventure. But even if you’re not planning on climbing Kilimanjaro, the KiliSmart Adventure is still a great way to see Tanzania and learn more about its people and culture.
2. The Perfect Safari Adventure in Tanzania
When you think of Tanzania, what’s the first thing that comes to mind? For many, it’s the Serengeti and the “Big Five” animals that live there: lions, elephants, buffalo, leopards, and rhinos. And while a Tanzania safari should definitely include a visit to the Serengeti (more on that later), there’s so much more to this East African country.
Tanzania is home to Africa’s tallest mountain, Kilimanjaro, as well as the world-famous Ngorongoro Crater, the largest unbroken caldera on earth. There’s also Lake Manyara, a beautiful alkaline lake that’s teeming with birdlife, and the Serengeti’s annual wildebeest migration, one of the natural world’s most spectacular events.
In short, Tanzania is an adventurer’s paradise, and a safari here is the perfect way to experience all the country has to offer. Here’s everything you need to know to plan the perfect Tanzania safari adventure.
When to Go on a Tanzania Safari
The best time to go on a Tanzania safari depends on what you want to see and do. If your main goal is to see the wildebeest migration, you’ll want to plan your trip for July to October, when the animals are in the southern Serengeti. January to March is the best time to see the migration in the western Serengeti, while April to June is the best time to see the migration in the northern Serengeti.
Keep in mind that the weather is also a factor to consider when planning your Tanzania safari. The country has two rainy seasons: the “long rains” from March to May and the “short rains” from November to December. Many lodges and camps close during the rainy season, so it’s best to avoid travel during these times if possible.

3. A Safari Adventure Unlike Any Other
When most people think of a safari, they picture the classic African savanna with lions, elephants, and other iconic animals roaming around. But there’s so much more to see on a safari adventure – especially in Tanzania.
Tanzania is home to some of the most diverse wildlife on the planet. From the “Big Five” animals that everyone wants to see (lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant, and rhino) to more than a thousand different species of birds, there’s something for everyone in Tanzania.
But Tanzania isn’t just about the animals. The country is also home to some of the most stunning landscapes on the planet. From the snow-capped peaks of Mount Kilimanjaro to the vast plains of the Serengeti, Tanzania is a nature lover’s paradise.
And then there’s the people. Tanzania is home to more than 120 different ethnic groups, each with their own unique culture and traditions. From the Maasai people who live in the shadow of Mount Kilimanjaro to the Hadzabe people who still live as hunter-gatherers in the bush, there’s a lot to learn about the people of Tanzania.
A safari adventure in Tanzania is unlike any other. If you’re looking for an African safari that’s off the beaten path, Tanzania is the place to go.
